Discusion of 3.56 and newer jailbreak

Ok, so I know this has been discussed many times now, but most of the posts I have seen are from earlier this year.
The problem I have is thati got a ps3 cheaply for my b-day, disc drive doesn't work, its updated to 3.56,
My only hope is to jailbreak to play games, I have went through and have seen alot of fakes, read alot of forums to no avail,
obviously there's still nothing yet. What I would like are some official developer sites that are actively working on the,
projects so that I can at least follow them to find out if anything new ever comes up, in development.
for real downgrades, or jailbreaks on 5.56 or above.

There is nothing to discuss. It most likely won't happen, and if it does, it will likely be sudden.

From my understanding you can downgrade from 3.56 to 3.55 but I believe it requires and infectus board so it won't be a free method.
Or you could always buy another Blu-ray drive...
Besides that there aren't a lot of options besides waiting but ATM the scene is pretty dead and it isn't looking too positive.

Seems to be dead doesn't it, well thanks for the tip on infectus, it might be cheaper than buying a drive ill check it out,anyway, if there is any news let me know I'd be greatfull.

Good luck with the soldering! The fact there is no real guide, afaik, tells you all you need to know!

Also you can't replace a Blu-ray so easily anyway. Well you could if all you had to replace is the lens, but if you don't have the original control board or it's broken you have to remarry the new one, which can only be done by Sony or on jailbroken consoles that can go down to at least 3.15.

Well, I checked out the infectus and it looks way difficult, not a simple job as I had at first hoped, being that the guide, is horrible
I take it essentially you would somehow get a nand from another ps3 that is 3.55 ow and flash it as to the details I'm unsure, and plus either you'd have to download a band not always sure of the quality, or find someone else who has an infectus, and with the downgraded ps3. You also have to be a really good sauderer. Ya ill have to sit on it awhile. Thanks for all the help though guys.

The solderless Progskeet is way cool, would it also work for ps3?
