Difference between 3.55, 4.21 and 4.30 CFWs?

Hey all,

I plan to jailbreak when I get a controller tomorrow, but I'm not sure which CFW version to use.

I read that an "Eboot patch" is needed for playing newer games on 3.55, and that sounds like an unnecessary pain... So I would assume 3.55 is out. What about 4.21 and 4.30? I read that 4.30 can get on PSN without a patch and 4.21 needs a patch... So with E3's now free CFW for 4.30...why not use it?

Dare I ask, how do these firmwares stack up for backups? Which one requires the least patching to get backups working with PSN? If I want to back up Assassin's Creed III, I'd want 4.21 since it's a new game.....argh I'm all over the place..

All CFW is free and you can get online one way or another on each. Just get Rebug 4.31 and be done with it.

i was at rebug 4.31 and went back to rebug 3.55.3 and am done with it :)

Just to be clear, can I jump from OFW 3.55 to 4.21 REBUG CEX (I'm CEX right, I haven't moved it to DEX mode..).
