Did I waste my money on buying a downgrader?

I've already used it and have been using it for the past couple months now, I haven't been keeping informed on the latest news in the scene and as such am very far behind. What's all this cobra business? Is that just to play "backed-up" games on any firmware or something like that?
I'm curious as to what has developed since I went ahead and got my downgrader once I realized that a real 4.10 CFW is impossible w/o private keys.

No CFW can be installed on any 3.56+ OFW

What about this whole cobra dongle thing? I mean it'll be inevitably reverse engineered.
So is that anything? Should I of have waited?

It may be reverse engineered (and released this time, lol) it may not, as for their new CFW you still need to be on 3.55 or CFW to install it. If you bought it to downgrade in the 1st place then your good as it may take forever (if ever) for any CFW to be installed on 3.56+ OFW
