Did Geohot have the Private Key all along?

Geohot demo'd 3.21OO way back in April, days after OtherOS was removed. Could he have had the key himself or did he simply have /dev_flash access and carry over the OtherOS features?

I cant see it to be honest.

Didnt he only show a picture of it saying 3.21OO also ? so really it could have been anything.

But stranger things have happened, I mean who would have thought sonys idea of Random was the same number all the time ?

Geohot just rehashed a new PUP file which contained signed files from 2 different PUPs.
Key and algo to rehash PUPs are known if you look where to look at ... nothing special.

If it was this easy I'm sure we'd have 3.55JB by now by merging 3.41 and 3.55.

Two different stories. This is what X3MAX did with their 3.50 "Jailbreak" (or basically the only option they WOULD HAVE to perform a 3.5x Jailbreak). Problem is, this won't allow you to run any newer games, so you are looking in the wrong direction here.

They haven't released a 3.50 jailbreak yet so we really don't know, but I suppose that would be the only viable solution.
What does not being able to run new games have to do with this? I'm simply speculating on what geohot may/may not have access to.

Apart from running new games I don't see any reason why to jailbreak newer FW's.
