A full re-format fixed my problem and I've stuck with the one manager (mm), since. I now face having to delete GTAIV ('cause it only plays off external since 1.06), and am dreading doing it and not recovering the 10gigs.

If and when I do it, I'll post the results.

Make sure to delete shadow copies, symlinks. They become the real files after removing them from original location.

OK, deleted GTAIV using mm and whoosh, 10GB came back!! Woot!

Supports my theory that to have more chance of a successful recovery of space, you have to remove the game using the same payload/manager that you installed the game with.

@ext22, in my experience only removing the hdd and formatting with pc works. Oh, and sadly, bye, bye trophies unless you can re-sync with psn.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! once you remove BMs there's still internal files from previous game installations sometimes deleting it from Game Data Utility doesn't work soo manually browse to the folder hdd0 / game / and check the folders and delete the ones that you want i free'd up 13additional gigs that wasn't appearing with other methods
