delete game folders with file manager
delete game folders with file manager –
hi, i have 40 gb ps3, and the hard disk is full. I tried to backup one
game (red dead redemption) but there is not space on the hard disk.
Do you know if it's possible to delete the folders of the old games?
I tried to delete the folder laun12345 of the backup manager and it
deleted it. Do you think if i delete the game folders i can reinstall
the game on the ps3? If it's not possible i will format the hard disk.
well trust me you need another big hdd one .because games took so much space .
and yes you can delete the Update folder .and maybe some others like dummies and video .
hi, sorry i mean to delete the folders with the installation of other
games. On the hard disk there are installation folders for uncharted,
gta 4 etc. can i delete these folders? i mean the folders with names
We need to separate which kind of folders we are dealing with here.

Deleting such data with the homebrew File Manager is also possible, but I consider it inadvisable, as we are not fully informed of how the PS3 keeps track of such data. And then it is better that the unwanted entries are purged using Sony tools, to be sure that they are cleaned out properly.
But any content added by homebrews, and not directly recognized by Sony menus, these are things that you also need to maintain in all ways by homebrews, including explicitly deleting them with the File Manager when you no longer want them.
So any games you've installed for the homebrew backup manager and then want to 'de-install' should be deleted either from that backup manager or by using the File Manager to delete the corresponding game subfolder inside the folder /dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/ (assuming you use the standard backup manager location).
