Defragment USB Hard Drive??
While running a maintanence app on my laptop after doing some game swapping to/from my Ext 320Gb hard drive, the app notified me that the HDD was like 63% fragmented!! :wow: I know that an occasional defragment on USB drives is okay in general and could even improve the performance a bit for regular PC usage, but wasn't for sure about defragging this one, since it's mainly plugged into my Kmeaw 3.55 PS3 aside from the occasional updating of games and stuff.
Anybody know if it IS safe to run defrag/maintenance on it? I would ASSUME so, being a typical FAT32 hard drive, but since PS3 games can be 40gigs+, and require accessing the drive constantly to play, I didn't wanna risk it w/o a lil research first...
So whaddya think, go for it and get a possible performance/capacity boost, or say **** it and leave well enough alone??
Oh, and I can't back it up and just go for it either. ATM, I'm really crunched for HDD space. :(
