I read back in March about being able to turn off hdd decryption on internal hdd's. Has this been updated over the past several months? I was planning on using a 250gb internal on a cfw ps3 and then swapping it into a 3.66 ofw to mod some things. (not cheating online games) Last I remember the tut from graf didnt seem very complete and I never even read one thing about anyone actually doing it. It would be awesome to get a pkg to install like how the qa flagging was done. I am not begging or anything like that. I can follow a tutorial as long as its working. Anyone have any links they can share so I can attempt this. I would consider shipping my hdd out with pre-paid return to have it decrypted as a last resort. paying for the service of course.
thanks. I really hope this ends up working.

There is no app like this for GameOS.
I didn't do it but i think if You disable encrypting HDD:
- You cannot using it until You reformat it (because it's encrypted ;]).
- You cannot swap it to another PS3 which has encrypting HDD on (because she will be trying decrypt it with her unique key).
- You cannot swap i.e two HDDs on the same console because PS3 write somewhere (xRegistry.sys?) which HDD was last (model, s/n and hdd fw ver.).
I'm not sure about above restrictions, so please correct me if I'm wrong.
