having debug firmware, and having a copy of someones personal debug firmware extracted from their debug unit are two totally different things.

whats being asked here is that someone with a debug ps3 make their ps3 available for the world to clone and for sony to see whos debug it is.

But haven't most people in the scene got their debug units second hand? So they would be untraceable.

Lol how do you think they got the debug firmware? Googled it? or asked Sony really really nicely could they have it? No there are people over at PS3News who have test/debug kits.

Did you honestly just say that??? Why dont you go look at the debug fw that they have over there. Its a pup which is useless w/o a debug unit. That pup is the same damn thing you download when you want to update your ps3 and just get it from the computer.

not all people care about online as much as fame, or ability to contribute to the community.

reason I mention the debug firmware, is because it will make development easier. and maybe just maybe, a way to counter sony moves.

Dude no i didnt misunderstand. I was talking about noreply's comment saying that you can get the debug fw from ps3news. I know that you are talking about getting someone to dump the debug unit so we can have the allready extracted cotents.

But yea having it would be nice so we can see if it can be run with the usb fw loader. Honestly idk if it can because im sure there are devs that would have tryed it by now. But we wont know till we get graced with a dump to play around with ourselves.

Sorry for going off like that but its just alot of noobs on here joining left and right that you can tell they obviously have NO clue what they are talking about half the time. I joined here like a year ago but have never really been interested in the ps3 until lately but this aint my first rodeo in hacking. Been on the xbox side of things for a while but it looks like the ps3 is going to be very promising.

But anyways back on topic.
