i guess i'll be the first to say that i accidentally formatted my hdd on the slim and lost all my data. so, the question is, what folder are the movies stored in on the internal hdd? i have SHITLOADS of movies that i would prefer to just ftp over rather than use the usb.

You won't be able to ftp video files (or music for that matter) to your ps3 because it files them into its own organisation structure and naming scheme, like ipods do with your mp3s. You'll need to either USB in or, for 4GB+ files, stream and save from ps3mediaserver.

Or you can just run an HTTP web server on your PC and download the videos by the web browser on the PS3.
Way faster than USB imo.
