A couple noob questions about Hermes and Open manager

I just received my ps3 break about 3 days ago so I am very new to the ps3 mod scene. I have already backed up my whole ps3 library onto my internal ps3 hard drive. But within the past day I have been looking at some of the other programs for ps3, mainly hermes and backup manager. But I haven't found a place that says if it is compatible with my ps3 break v1.1. I was wondering if anyone could tell me, also if I were able to get hermes or backup manager would I have to re-backup my ps3 games? I apologize if these are very noobish questions

Ps3break used to use backup manager before open manager came into being and then they swapped to open manager as it was better so your not missing out on that one (they are now on open manager 1.16b at the minute i think. As for Hermes If you have a ps3break v 1.1 driver update your ps3break dongle by downloading the tools on the ps3break.com website in their download section. edit* click on the download section and it will point you to the site with the software. They are now using the hermes v4 hex files at the mo so if you havent updated to that then do so. So to round off...backup manager old news...Hermes hex payload you either have V3 or V4 depending on when you updated.

For what updating to the new hermes V4?. You dont have top for that. Dont bother with backup manager it isnt worth it unless the fabled coming of backup manager 2 comes over the horizon which doesnt look like any time soon. Your backed up games are fine as long as you dont uninstall whatever manager you are using as that usually deletes all the games in the folder you backed up your games to. If you update open manager it will just write over the top so you dont have to unistal first and your games are safe.

Yea, if I only update to the new hermes 4, would that require me to backup again? Lol the day after I backed up my games I traded them for a new copy of black ops. So if it requires me to backup again then I'm kinda SoL

No you wont have to then. You have Call of Duty Black ops already? I didnt think it was out till November

No lol I don't get it until everyone else, but I took all my games down to gamestop and traded them for a pre order of black ops

A hex isn't all that hard to flash. If you find that Hermes v4b doesn't work with your backups, then reinstall your original flash.

When I first received my break I found a site with a step by step walkthrough but I can't seem to find it now. From what I remember you basically plug it into a pc, click the upgrade button and then transfer the new hex files onto the stick. Can anyone let me know if I am way off lol
