I know links and things like that can't be provided but just out of curiousity if a game was ripped with Backup Manager then FTP'd over to the PC and a torrent made, would that not work once downloaded on another computer and FTP'd back to the PS3?

It will work.
But you need to check the compatibility list first: http://tinyurl.com/psjbcl
shudnt be asking this buddy
this is piracy and piracy shouldn't be discussed
wish i never updated to play gt5 online.
only one way to find out. someone will have to try it.
Well I did wonder if it'd be allowed, but like I said, it's just out of curiousity because I keep seeing people saying games CAN'T be downloaded and you NEED to have had the origional disc.
piracy talk
google answers your question very very very well
yes if you downloaded games search somewhere else .its not allowed here
Noone said running backups of your owns games is illegal. And yes it is possible, I just don't have a Blu-Ray player in my computer to back up a game and test this method, but it seems pretty reliable. Over at PS3Hax there's a tutorial showing how to convert an ISO with a program, which makes it playable on the Jailbreak, and the tut shows how to put it on your internal drive through FTP. It also says only FTPing to the internal drive work, go search "How to copy your PS3 backups from PC to internal PS3 drive." on PS3hax I can't post the link, I haven't been a member long enough.
