Corrupted Data icon in xmb games menu
Corrupted Data icon in xmb games menu –
Since my favorite game was starting to freeze during play i wanted to clean up the ps3 to fix it.
I went into the game data utility and deleted alot of the game data and found a file called Corrupted Data and i couldnt delete it. I googled the error code (80010036) and tried rebuilding the ps3 database. After it was done the icon is no longer in the saved games utility but just below the open manager icon in the menu. I still cant delete it and its pissing me off .
I had the backup manager 2.0 installed previously and i saw in some search results that it might be the root to the file existing.
I use ps3key 4.0 and have Open Manager v1.17.1 installed.
If the only fix to the problem is formatting the harddrive i would like to know how i backup my saved games.
When i try the copy function on the ps3 its telling me "Copying of this saved data is not allowed."
I know you can not backup anything from the game data utility. From the save data utility, there are saves you can backup, and saves you can not. I'm not sure if the is an app out yet that alows you to copy what ever you want to. You could try cogimie(sp) file manager, or FTP. Then go here to try figure out the rest, if it works or not. Was still using the eboot of 3.41, my mistake.
Like asked before in this thread, I have a corrupted data icon on my XMB. With FTP, i cannot delete the specified folder. It has "DEL" in the name.
How can I get rid of this ugly icon?
I hid it lol, use awesome manager and put it in a directory out of your sight. I spent a whole weekend trying to delete a corrupted file just like you.
Rebuild file structure in System Recovery menu. Then delete the corrupted data
Can you quickly tell me what this function does?
What will be lost when doing this function.
And I have upgraded the HDD so I guess it will take a long time?
Thanks for the fix, entered service mode with a USB connected controller and did option rebuild file system
It took 5 min or so to complete, almost thought i was formatting it.
They were still there, but there was fewer of them.
triangle -> delete = error can't access harddisk.
Hmm. Tried again.. nothing.
then I zoomed around the XMB for 2-4 minutes and they slowly started to disappear.... They are all gone now.
Thanks a bunch!
could you please clarify ?
