Hi peeps - ok I know 3.56 is untouched at the moment mod wise but I just had a question about the link on the bottom of the 1st page. I won't repost in fear of aiding malicious false information if that what it turns out to be, but basically it's a guide stating you can downgrade from 3.56 by bricking it and then using some modded files to get it into some different service mode bla bla.
I'm a bit of a PS3 n00b so my question is, what is bricking exactly? on some consoles it meant basically killing the console, i.e. time to go buy a new one. Is this the same deal here? Or does it just mean you lose all your data etc? cause my PS3 is a new s/h purchase that has no data on it at all that I care about (but a 3.56 one, unfortunately).
Thanks.
Ok yeah I thought it was. Just that the language being used by some when talking about bricking the ps3 seemed so casual like it was no big deal, so I thought maybe there was no harm in trying.
So thanks - just wait and see what comes out of the mod scene I guess.
will the 3.56 get hacked or a way to downgrade to 3.55?
yet another one, search tab is your friend.
No, you're stuck atm. But search a little bit, and you'd have already found it by yourslef.
That writes back in the 3.55 keys and service mode? Or are all the people capable of something like this currently being sued?
Heads up...

He has a point.
