Clarification on the "any hex" option with some dongles

Hello Scene -

Can someone enlighten me on how this "use any hex file" functionality on the latest batch of dongles works? (I just ordered one of these myself to play with along side my ti84...)

Is there a flavor of hex file that tends to work best, or is this all just a matter of the dongle's software translating the hex into it's own native hex?

yes that

you mean for exemple E3 card? I think you can use any hex file from any board. Am I right?
