change the ps3s origins?
hello, long shot here, but with recent events I think this might be possible.
the situation is as follows, my ps3 is a ceramic white 40gb from Japan, I imported it a couple years back, 2007 I believe. now, it works fine and all, mostly everything is in english; however some things are japanese, like, the message of the day for example, its in japanese gibberish, and there's no way to get it in english. or how the japanese press O to confirm things and the rest of the world presses X, i get that mixed up a lot, since I have another PS3 which is 100% english.
I was wondering if there was a way to change this?
I'm thinking that stuff might be hard coded in the nand? Maybe?
See my thread about performing a button swap.
Not sure why anyone would want X as confirm, though, it doesn't make any sense no matter what part of the world you're living in.
As far as the news scroller, I don't think anything can be done about that unless someone knows how to do a full region change.

think a full region change may be possible in the future?
And the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, as in the use of oral referred to as "PS3", when more. PS3 first in May 2005 of the E3 game show, published in November 2006 have been in Japan, the United States, Europe, Taiwan, UK, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and Australia for sale, global unified marketing slogan is "PLAY BEYOND", "Beyond the fun." A careful observation of PS3 the signs, you will find that it seems to be "PLAYSTATIOn 3" rather than "PLAYSTATION 3", but this is not like There have been reports, using n to security, but because of the font for the N and n the same shape, just different sizes, this point could be met by "Spider-Man" (Spider-Man) series of films have confirmed the title of Logo.
