change hdd How to

I have a jailbroken ps3 ... 120gb with two games on the hdd...

I want to change my internal hdd for a 500gb... now can anyone tell me everything I must know before hand and maybe how I should go about to do the switch...... thanks a lot

well there is nothing we can tell just replace it .and then thats it install games to a new one via FTP or backup manager or whatever you want to install it .

It was on 3.41.. but it is asking me to put in a usb drive or stick with the 3.41 or newer update.. so I found it on the pages and thats what I did.. now it is formating the drive.... so I'll see

Thats normal. The ps3 stores some of the files from the firmware on the hdd. So by replacing it, it knows that the files are incomplete and forces you to re install the firmware again.

well thanks to all .... Now it is done and all my games are on my internal drive.. and they all work great...

So basically I needed a copy of 3.41 update on a usb stick... it formatted my new hdd... and right after .. I re jailbroke the ps3.. and copied all my games using open M... thanks again all works great...

can i ftp the stuff from hdd0/game to my pc and then transfer them back after i have changed the hdd? thats al the singstar songs and save files
