Ok, this is a concept so how about some feedback from somone that knows more about PS3 dev than I do.

I have been playing with all things PSN lately and have learned a lot about edat, rifs and PSN activation in general. I have both a 3.55 TB CFWv2 phat and a 4.11 OFW slim. I was delighted to find out about the transfer features and how you can use this to move PSN from CFW to OFW and visa versa. Ok so I have now run into the 'unsolvable problem' in that the ps3 doesn't transfer the act.dat file that ties to the activated rif files.

I have had a few thoughts on this and would just like to have a discussion so anyone with any ideas please respond.

1. Ok so on a CFW machine you have to pre-activate by linking the user account to a PSN account. This allows ReactPSN to create a act.dat and act.key for that user account and machine. I purposefully tied the aa account to my psn account when I pre-activated. After trasnfering to the OFW I tried to login to the PSN account and it would not allow me. Is there anyway arround this, or anyway to get the OFW to create an act.dat that works with those transfered .rif files? I thought maybe I could create the act and rifs and copy them to the exdata folder tied to a user that hasn't been pre-activated. Then after transfer I could activate a PSN account to the user account that has the transfered .rifs......Anyone tried this or other monkeying around with the files and user accounts on the CFW machine before transfer?

2. Assuming none of that will work then then the next best thing would be to access the HD on an OFW machine. If we could do that then we could get the act.dat, use rap2rif to sign raps with our own act.dat and then drop this rifs into the proper path. After playing with transfer of content I came to understand that the mini and ps1 environments sort of work different in their validation. So this is what I am proposing.......Could someone write an FTP server as a mini (I think Minis have network adapter support because they have things like leaderboards and such right?), then you install that mini on your CFW machine and transfer it to your OFW machine and launch it. Now you can access the filesystem which isn't a JB but it is still a helpful thing.

Ok, so someone that knows something about ps3 dev tell me if this is possible, if not a mini then why not a signed ftp server that we transfer on thru transfer agent....surely someone with more ability than I has thought about this..........
