12-03-2012,11:03 AM
what CFW would you install at the moment?
My purposes are:
-play backups
-go online for resigning save files and update trophies (no online gaming)
3.55 kmeaw is still good? will I have troubles fixing newest games? Online capabilities?
Rogero will I have troubles fixing newest games? Online capabilities?
Rebug will I have troubles fixing newest games? Online capabilities?
I have read a lot this last days but i cannot understand the difference between those
Thanks

Rogeros latest.. Best one Imo. You'll be able to log in psn and You won't have to fix games on it where as rebug you do for anything over 4.21.

I agree with Griff. I waited and I don't regret it. I installed yesterday Rogero 4.30 v2.03 and is awesome! The XMB works great, I believe even better that on Kmeaw, and I was able to go online, synchronize trophies, activate my PS3 on PSN and even download a full PSN game I bought two years ago when I first got the console. Just follow the instructions that are very easy, most important to check the file MD5. I tested and it was able to play everything I threw at it, old and new (4.25 games)

REBUG is better. It's more stable. Looks cooler & Sounds cooler, and you can do more stuff with it (i.e. spoofing, full BD emulation support, etc.) than Rogero. There's not much games that require 4.21+ anyway. Even if a game you need is 4.21+, it only takes like one minute to download a patched eboot for it and replace it with the original eboot.
Both REBUG and Rogero can sign on PSN.
And by the way, if you want to sync trophies, you have to sign onto PSN, which still gives you the same risk of getting banned as playing an online game with CFW. Everything about your PS3 is sent to Sony when you sign on PSN.

I moved to Rogero 4.30 V2 on Thanksgiving. I can say i'm just as happy with it as I was with KMEAW.
I would only suggest Rogero over Kmeaw because you don't have to patch eboots on Rogero.

there is an SEN disabler/enabler pkg for 3.55 that you can install to enable PSN access and disable PSN access at will.
basically if you want to play online, you would use the Enable function and when you are done you simply Disable the PSN access. it's kind of a hassle but it will get you online successfully.
**BEWARE: Risk of Console Ban**
safest online method right now is the latest Rogero 4.30 V2.03 with MultiMan Stealth
but you can also install MultiMan stealth on 3.55 KMEAW

Thank you Sergio,
therefore the only difference is about the psn Store access? open for Rogero and closed for kmeaw?

It's actually open for both. the SEN enabler/disabler will give you access to PSN as normal.
you will be able to play online, psn store, pshome, friends, message, etc.
the only noticeable difference between 3.55 vs 4.30 is that 4.30 doesn't require patching games to play.
4.30 is just more straightforward now. after installing 4.30 CFW and latest multiman, you can play all the latest games and get online with no extra work.
To successfully use 3.55 you have to patch all newer games to work and enable/disable PSN access manually.
Those are your choosing points.
I recommend 4.30 as it's whats easiest to use.
I was on 3.55 since it was released so I would never knock it, it is a great CFW, but I just got tired of finding/making patches and having to mess with them.

Ok Sergio, thanks again for your help, and your clearness; I read a lot before on this and other forums but you finally made things clear.
Rogero all the way
