CFW kmeaw + OFW 3.55 + GAIA 2.05 ready to install pack

Ok, I checked the FW on the PS3 (its the 40 HDD fat model), it is 3.15. Should I update it? If I did, wouldnt it update to 3.6 or higher? What should I do to start this process?

why are you on 3.15 beside otherOS ? there is no CFW for 3.15 so if you want to play games off hdd then update it .

Ok, I havent been in the loop the last few months so forgive my ignorance.

Im still running regular 3.41 using ps3break dongle and all my games are stored in the standard LAUN12345\GAMEZ (I think this is it)

I should be able to follow the guide on page 1 with no issues at all?

Will I have to move my existing backups into a different folder or will they still run under there?

The guide says put backups under the root and into a GAMEZ folder, So I should create a GAMEZ folder right under the HD00 folder or whatever it is (at work, cant remember the exact name).

Again, sorry for the quetions if they've been answered, I did some searching but couldnt find my exact answers so i appreciate any help someone can provide.

Thats what I was wondering, should I let the system update itself (which would make it 3.60?) or should I just update to OFW 3.55 as shown on the tutorial?

this shit ****ed up my whole console. i installed the kmeaw firmware and everything went right. i installed the gaia manager v2.07. but every time i try to start a game, no matter off internal or external hdd, it won't start. some games load and menu returns to xmb. i go to app_home/PS3_GAME/ and nothing happens. i tried several games like crysis 2, nfs hot pursuit, wipeout hd ...
so what is the fault! i appreciate your help.

im all sweet with this just trying to get a FTP server going on my unit but i get some error code when i try to fire up the FTP program mentioned in the first post any new updated versions ?

First off, you should try asking in a better manner....

But alas, I know some of the games you mentioned need a little extra love to get going. Try MultiMan in patched mode (R1) and having a disc inserted. More importantly, have a wee look over the forums and a solution you shall find.

If you're referring to Blackb0x 1.2 (3.55), I too am getting an error.

I installed OpenPS3FTP v2.0 from this thread and it works.

Only able to transfer @ ~22MB/s (PS3 160GB Slim) ... is this about where it should be?

Thats probably about right, considering I user CuteFTP and use 3 simultaneous connections (any more fail) and hit about 66mbps.
