CFW Change Question

I apologize if this has been answered already but I figured it would be a quick one:

I am currently running 3.55 WT CFW. Is it possible to change over to KMEAW without losing anything?

I know that it's just a FW update/swap, but I am concerned that I may lose some game data or something.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just to be safe you should first update to 3.55 OFW and then to kmeaw. But yeah, you won't lose anything.

I would install Kmeaw from the recovery menu and not the XMB menu, as you may run into problems later. Also when i changed mine awhile back I went from wanikoko back to OFW 3.55 then to Kmeaw. I dont know if you have to go back to OFW first, but I did and havent had any problems.

Actually it's safer to not install OFW first.
This was a rumor started by the fact that Geohot released a PATCH and said you have to install 3.55 OFW then the patch. Nowadays we're installing full firmwares, so unless the firmware itself is ****ed up, you won't brick.
However, if you install OFW first then CFW, your PS3 stays in update process longer and if a power cut happens while it's updating, bye bye PS3

I update from CFW to CFW all the time and even downgrade from CFW to CFW, never had issues.
