cfw with bluray drive –
gonna put a cfw on a 60gb fatty that has ofw 3.30, but i also need to remarry a bluray drive on it.
the cfw looks easy to do. just gonna use a usb stick, but there are two ways of doing it one in service mode one in an update via usb. which is best, the update by usb sounds easier?
should i do this before doing anything about the bluyray drive or do i need to sort that out first??
also what cfw should i put on?? will i loose the ability to watch blurays on it and would i be able to play black ops2 when it comes out on the proper psn network with my mates??
found most of the answers, really need to know when to remarry the bluray drive, should i put it on REBUG_4.21.1 first or sort the bluray drive remarry out first??
I've never separated console from BluRay drive, so I wouldn't know really, but I would probably sort it out now, if only so you can rule out CFW as being the issue if there's an issue.
My blue ray is broken
I'm in the same boat and I'm a noob but, I've been reading about this for months. It's best to go with a 3.55 cfw to enable q-a just in case you want to downgrade later, it'll make it easier. Rebug toolbox has a q-a enabler so that takes care that issue. Also to remarry a drive, you need to get into factory service mode. rebug toolbox as a option for booting into fsm (I'm not sure how to get out of fsm from there though because, from what I've been reading the last few months, there are other files that need to be on a usb stick to get back to normal mode). Can one of you PS3 vets verify if I'm making any sense and add a few pointers?
