Hi guys,
I know many people have asked this but i just wanted to be really sure as my friend asked me to jb his ps3.
He has a 80gb ps3 and i am planning to install wutang-geohot cfw over it as i am more comfortable with it. Will this cfw brick his ps3 or even has it ever bricked a ps3? i have a slim and i dont have problems with it so far and i install it through the xmb. can i install the fw through xmb in phat too?

Download Kmeaw, from the link in my SIG. It has EASY instructions to follow.

For a quick clarification, The combination of Geohot + Wutangrza was not responsible for the multitude of bricks out there, that was Waninkoko's first custom firmware. Waninkoko v1 would cause bricks on the older, fat PS3s that had 256mb NAND. With newer slim models, or the fat models with 16mb NOR, it installed fine. Waninkoko's second custom firmware doesn't have this issue. While there will always be a very small risk of bricking when your installing any firmware, official or modified firmware, Waninkoko's version 2 and Kmeaw's modified firmware both have there benefits. I would download Kmeaw from tthousand's signature and follow the instructions to get that up and running. Install that, install latest MultiMan pkg, than google BDEMU.pkg and install that. The BDEMU package is required to be run once to allow backups with MultiMan.
