is CFW 3.41 now dead? –
08-01-2012,08:45 PM
is it over for us 3.41 users? some of us have 3rd party controllers and don't want to loose this support.
the new batman game fix just came out,and it appears to be as if 3.41 users have been abandoned. why is this?
will there be future support for 3.41 users or will we be forced to update to 3.55?
if we are forced to update to 3.55 then has anyone removed the security check or whatever that stops 3rd party controllers from working yet?

in the FAQ section of the thread at the top titled: CFW kmeaw + OFW 3.55 + Managers ready to install pack.
there is this:
"I am on 3.41 JB, Is better solution for me, to stay on 3.41 or go to CFW 3.55?
R: If you don't want the trouble of replacing EBOOTS for the 3.41 then go and jump into the 3.55 CFW train, but keep in mind that PSN is not available on CFW 3.55 kmeaw"
with no warning or mention that 3rd party wireless controllers will no longer function on 3.50+ firmware. why is there no warning?
is it because the author of the article doesn't know,or it it because 3rd party controller support has been restored in the newer custom firmware "CFW kmeaw version 3.55" ?
eboots by the way has been hardly worth the mention since that's been taken care of in seconds via deans tools, but whatever.

Anything that has been signed for 3.55 should be able to be resigned for 3.41.
I guess not many do it because they think not many run 3.41 still.
Whats so great about 3rd party controllers anyway? :P

well for one, they cost us money. if they no longer work,we're out the money we payed for our controllers because we wouldn't be able to use them any longer.
i purchased a wifi controller that fits my hands much better than the smaller sony controller.
it's been a massive improvement....until what looks to be forgotten support for 3.41 users.
one game isn't that big of a deal. though i must confess i was really looking forward to batman
since i enjoyed the last one,but the fear of the trend continuing has me a bit bummed out.
if i understand your response correctly, the answer to my question is no. CFW 3.55 kmeaw
does not restore 3rd party controller support as i feared.

Good argument. I remember now, I had a 3rd party controller on ps2 and loved it.
I didn't actually know 3.41+ removed 3rd party support too until I read your post
I thought they did it in a much later version
Anyway I'm feeling generous. I've resigned a EBOOT for gta modding before and it shouldn't be too different. Would you like me to do the batman one?

I hope it works for you
UP1018-BLUS30538_00-ARKHAMCITY0PATCH_FW315.pkg
I signed it with 3.15 keys in case someone comes across this. Some use to stay on 3.15 for OtherOS support. Not sure if many do now though.
Make sure you boot from blu-ray disk icon.
If it works it may be worth researching on how to do this yourself. I can't give you a full guide. But for starters you need be on linux (I use ubuntu) or set up cygwin for windows and a set of compiled failoverflow & geohots npdrm tools.

If you've got an official controller as well you could always update to 3.55 to see if the 3rd party controller works and if it doesn't install QA Flag Extra then downgrade to 3.41 from recovery.

not having much luck here. when i install that package,am i supposed to see a psn style game icon for batman? because i don't.
i installed the game (BLUS30538) in my GAMEZ folder for gia as always. the manager fix permissions and then modded the sfo file but then when back on XMB and i use the disc icon to start batman i just get a black screen.
i tried the mem patch on too and still nothing happens.
i guess the easy days of just replacing an eboot and done are over? this is going to be hard to learn new tricks.
i did try multi man too, but that manager is much slower loading than gia so i try to avoid it unless i need it's tools.
