Hello, I have a CECHA00 PS3 with 4.00 system software. After some research, I gather that I wsill need to purchase some osrt of kit to downgrade this to the fabled 3.55 vedsion. Is there any solderless option for such a console? I do not mind opening it up, it's just that I can't/don't know how to solder.

Actually there is a solderless method. You must buy a progskeet v1.1 a solderless adapter, injectus jtag programmer (needed to install solderless bitstream to the progskeet ((if nor and not nand then you will use default bitstream and nor clip)) ) and 360 nand clip. This method is a whole lot easier, but at the sacrifice of being more expensive.
