This cause RSOD? Help Please!

first off, you cannot install notheros or any other unpatched firmware in factory service mode. it will fail on bluray installation process.
second, this lv2diag.self does nothing at all. it is useless with a real rsod, this i can asure you.
the only thing that helps is the pkg made from the users from downgrade irc channel. but if it is a hardware error, it will return.

i would try to run the pkg, and then do a factory service mode install with another firmware that is bluray bypass patched (rogero's for example). but the pkg will only work on that notheros. after this you can install any other firmware. though, as i said, it maybe return as of hardware=nor corruption.

a real fix would be replacing the complete nor chip

sony has put this error in lv0 if a nor corruption is assumed. i think if somebody can patch this error routine, it will also work without problems. but here i am assuming

go ahead, get into fsm on your ps3 and install 3.55 OFW in FSM.

oh and btw to set shit right, notherOS IS a patched firmware. why the hell you think its unpatched? there are many patches in it ^^

i also have a notherOS downgrader pup i use for RSOD console on 3.56+ when i downgrade them. works a treat tbfh.

notheros is a standard otheros++ pup with dev patches. you can build it yourself easily, but it has not bluray update pkg removed. the only difference is basic_plugin

to the OP.

if you already have rsod pup installed...

grab that toggle qa.pkg and run it.
once you do that run the lv2diag in fsm

then install 3.55 OFW
if 3.55 OFW install without rsod, then your good hopefully.
if it does work.... stay on 3.55 CFW for a few weeks or a month before updating to 4.30 CFW.

yes if the rsod is hardware related then your best bet is to find out whats causing it and fix it.
you can get it from more than just 1 thing also. eg hardware causing it and software too.



not only that but different software corruption will cause it.
