Cant we get a CFW to play our backups on BD-R?
Cant we get a CFW to play our backups on BD-R? –
It seems all the effort etc is been to get our backups working off HDDs, is it possible with current hack to make a CFW thats is same as original but loads our backups from BD-R? or is this too hard to do at the moment..
Also would this get the backups working that wont work with current method or re-rooting for BDROM to HDD? Thanks..

Between the cost of a BD-R drive and media, i'd guess there is little to no interest in this outside of chinese street vendors...

A bluray burner costs about the price of a tb hdd and the discs cost about $1 each.
Yer but alot of us already have a BD-R writer and BD-Rs .. anyways its just a question to find out if its hard for the devs to do it that way or not. thanks..
It wouldn't be hard for someone who knows what their doing to add this support. Trouble is I doubt any developer is interested in adding it as it's not useful to *most* people.

A 2TB hard drive can be purchased for £65 and has obvious physical benefits over a BD-R...
1. no need to insert disk
2. faster reads
3. data doesn't deteriorate over time releative to a bd-r
Taking above into account it would be cost ineffective to even use bd-r
i'm sure support will come one day though.
Not really true, cheapest bluray writer costs more than a 2TB drive actually.

I would love if someday developer able Make it work, just put the disc on autorun mode, and the game is play, no more travel to backup manager and xmb and play the game , ithink its 3 longer steps than put disc on, and with the disk my games collection seems more organize and sony would granted it since it cost of laser spare part
I'd rather see the ability to rip discs via pc br drive then transfer to ps3.
That would be cool.
I've been sayings this... My son is 4 and likes to play some games but to have him clicking all the buttons in a backup manager? Please....god no! He knows how to put a disc in and hit X... But seriously can you disable every option in a backup manager and hide it except for to launch the game? Otherwise I'd prefer a BD disc.. Personally I don't care about the cost. Running every singe game internal is a pain in the ass. Burn disc. Pop it in. Done. No transfer no etc etc... Put it in and play.
