Can't Update to 3.55

OK I was on 3.55 Geohot, then I downgraded to 3.41. Now I try to update to OFW 3.55 and it tells me data is corrupt; tried updating via internet and via usb. Any Ideas?

When you downgraded from 3.55 to 3.41, did you remember to do the final steps of downgrading to something lower then 3.41 and then back up to OFW 3.41? (The modified 3.41 that allows you to downgrade from 3.55, has the version # 3.5 6 in it, so you have to downgrade to something lower then 3.41 but greater then or equal to what came on your console originally).

ahh crap, forgot to downgrade a second time then upgrade. Will I lose all my saves and trophies when I downgrade again?

If I don't remember the firmware my PS3 came on and i downgrade further would it brick?

Yeah, it's going to format everything as part of the downgrade, unless you're on a 256MB NAND unit. If it formatted before, it will format again. Also, just go down to 3.40 or something just to be safe. If 3.40 doesn't work, try the next version down till you find one that does work. And, I don't think it bricks you, just semi-brick till you get a good firmware on there again.

Dang It, If I backup the home/0000001/ folder and restore after I upgrade that should restore my stuff right?

Also do you have an idea where I can find 3.40? The sites I have tried all link to sony which seems to have been removed from their server.
