Can't run backups (80028F14)

I've got some backups of my games on an external HDD (couldn't get them to work for the same reason as described) and I moved them all to my Internal HDD using MultiMAN, they all appear on the system (in multiman) and when I load the game, after going back to the XMB and going to /app_home/PS3_GAME/ I get an error message

An error occured during the start operation (80028F14)

I don't really know what I'm doing wrong that it isn't working. I think I read somewhere about a faulty BD? I don't think it could be that as I only got the system on christmas and haven't really used it much. it reads and plays games perfectly.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

put a game disk in your ps3 - booting games without a disk in the drive hasn't been fully perfected as of yet.

I've tried it with a disk in and it still doesnt work

I've tried to put in my Fifa 11 disk and my DJ Hero disk and neither work

If you have a disk in what happens if you click the Blu-Ray icon ? it should be for the game you chose in the Backup loader (Gaia / Multiman etc)

Have you deleted the game data after you moved them to the internal drive? if not, try removing it and try again.

What are the "rules" on deleting game data, when installed on internal/external moved from>to?

I believe you have to delete the game data if change how you are loading the game. IE: Disc, USB(external), HDD0(internal).

Also you may have to use a different patch if you load from HDD vs. Disc.

If i select the game that's in the disk it will load the game that i physically have (not the one i chose on BM)

what game data do i delete? normally after copying from external to internal, i will delete the game from the external completely. And i'll give the patch a shot, I guess I need to setup my wi-fi for that

On the game tab go to the very top. It says Game data.
For the game you want to play delete the data for it.

But if you can't see the image of the game you selected in BM on the disc then you have some other issue. Seems like the payload might not have loaded.

I may be wrong (and i am sure someone will correct me) but isnt that pretty much what a payload without backup support does ?

So in short what payload are you using ?
