Can't install packages anymore?

I have Waninkoko's 3.55 CFW. When I first installed it, it would install packages no problem. I have blackbox, I have Rogero's file manager, as well as a few retail pkg's.
However, I was planning on trying out multiman's backup manager today, but it won't install. It's on the root of a FAT32 drive, and is signed for 3.55, but I keep getting an error telling me it's either corrupted or I need to sign in to PSN, where it still won't work.
I've re downloaded it several times, so I know I have a valid file.
What's goin on here?

v1 of Waninkoko's CFW?
I was thinking of going to Kmeaw's CFW, honestly, as I see it can install signed or unsigned packages. Would that work as well?

You can use multiman lol .. just install the one that isnt for GH you should have 2 of them for 3.55

I tried both already. I would like to switch to kmeaw's, not just for that, but I've heard better things and it seems to be better supported.
Sorry for being stubborn but...
When switching CFW's, I know you have to install the OFW first, which I have, but do I have to do anything before or after installing the OFW to prepare? Should I use the recovery console to do this?

I switched to OFW and then updated to Kmeaw CFW through recovery, everything works fine that way.
You don't need any other preparations other than OFW.

Did you install the OFW through recovery too?
