Can't get patch mode to work, OM 2.1, black screens

After too much time, i got my copy of MGS4, finally.
As you all know, i also got stuck in act 4, where the PS1 sequence is in.
I tried searching and using a ton of possible solutions i found on the forums, but nothing seems to work:
I re-ripped my game disc to the hdd, tried playing on the original (that throws me back to the xmb as well), and tried to start another game in patched mode- But nothing seems to work in patched mode, i am only getting black screens for whatever game i try.
I am using 3.41 with open manager 2.1, what am i missing?

This is becoming extremely fraustrating, i can't finish my original game that i payed money for. What a bad joke.

Have you tried just playing through the ps1 sequence on the original disk? The only other option I'm aware of is you can use a save file just past this point: http://psx-scene.com/forums/search.php?searchid=453683 Scroll down to the "Crash at Act 4" thread and hit the attachments icon. Download the relevant save file and use an app like ps3saveunlocker to make it work.

Besides that, my main problem is that i can't manage to get a single game working in patched mode, what can be the problem?

Also, this is a major bummer, up to this point i did extremely well, on solid normal, 1 death in act one, another in act 2, and no deaths in act 3
Hope the save file has good stats as well, meh...

Use the permission fix pkg, if you haven't already , just run it once

Upgrade to multiman. That's your best course of action and will probably fix it. OM 2.1 is horribly horribly outdated.

Will do, and will update once i do.
If that doesn't work, does anyone agree to take my save, pass it the problematic part, and send it back?
I have the PAL version of the game, (save files start with BLES), all my friends with original copies ordered from the U.S, so they have NTSC.

Edit- i'm a bit confused, does multiman 2.00.05 even work on 3.41?

Edit 2- Well that was pointless, it does nothing really except for looking really cool.
Other than that, i can't even spot where does it have the patched mode.
