Can't Get Into Recovery Mode, 60GB Phat
How can you get into recovery mode when the Standby/Power button is completely unresponsive? In other words, I can hold down the power button however long I like, and it will not shutdown. In the same way, I can turn the power on holding it down, and it will not beep at me but always proceeds to boot up. It's not a hardware issue, as I've opened the case to verify the switch is good (it is). It will turn the machine on, it just won't let me shutdown or enter recovery mode. It was working long enough to get Kmeaw on board, but I've been having problems with exiting games (backups and disks) causing the PS3 to hang. I need to reinstall 3.55 OFW and then reinstall Kmeaw to fix it, but can't get into recovery mode, and neither will install through XMB. Oh and before somebody says to format, that's the first thing I tried and bupkiss. The switch is still unresponsive. Is there a package that could be installed that would allow you to directly initialize a reboot into recovery from the XMB? Hoping someone has answers, 'cause Google has not been my friend...
