Can't get ANY backups to work on kmeaw

Hi, I installed kmeaw using the steps and files described here

I've tried backing up games with gaia manager, which works, but then when I try to run them the screen goes black, flashes white for a second and then returns me to the main ps3 menu.

I've also tried using the pkg method which essentially makes it a PSN game, but I have the same issue here.

I have a PS3 slim bought in Canada about 3 months ago.

Any ideas? I'm desperate

Note that I also tried Waninkoko's FW with the same results.

Have you run a Fix Permissions app?

When it dumps you back to the xmb, goto app_home if running diskless or the disk icon if you a a game in your drive. Does anybody bother searching anymore? I answer this question at least twice a day.
