Can't FTP to PS3 –
I am running 3.41.
Well, I have installed on my PS3, blackb0x FTP v1.2 and FileZilla on my PC. I can connect to my PS3 just fine using FTP but when ever I go to transfer a file to my PS3 it will time out and fail any ideas?
I am using Ubuntu on my laptop if that makes any difference?
What payload are you using? Probably a PL3 is my guess. PL3 changes permissions on the internal HDD depending on what version you're using. You may want to try another payload.
I agree try a hermes payload. Also try using the ftp server that is in open manager. I have the same problem trying to upload files to my ps3 from the computer in the garage. The pc inside the house uploads files fine though. Strange stuff.
Yes, I was using PL3.
I then used HermesV4b and was still having problems. So I tried a few experiments.
I created a new Folder on the PS3 using FTP. Worked fine. So I deleted it and tried to copy my game across. Nope, timed out again.
Tried to copy files from my PS3 to my Machine. Worked fine. Tried to copy my game to my PS3. Timed out...
I then decided to see if I could copy a small file across rather than the whole folder of 17.9GB. So I created a new folder on my PS3, Named it the BLES-**** of the game and copied across the Games .SFO file. It worked... So I made a new folder inside the BLES and called it PS3_GAME. Copied across all the lose files kicking around in there.... They all went across.
I then highlighted the four big folders in PS3_Game on my computer and copied them across. It copied all 270 files, fine without any failure or timeouts.... All is working fine and the game plays on the PS3...
Not sure why I didn't work, I think it was just pure luck.
Thanks for everyones help anyway.
try to use FlashFXP instead of filezilla. also, did you change your LAN adapter settings?
Possible Remedy –
i was having the same issue where I'd start copying and it would take off, then it would just hang on a slightly larger file. I was using core ftp pro but I didn't have the PASV button ticked. As soon as I did that and tried it again, sweet as bro! Hope this helps you get your games on the inside.
