Cannot access service mode with FW 3.55 –

HI ,
I have a fat PS3 with FW3.55 (multyman installed) I need to access service mode.
After PS3 turned off I pressed and hold the power button the console starts after a beep but do not beep again and do not turn off. ( like i just start it normally) I even removed the external cover and pressed the small metal power pin but no use.
I removed everything even the CD and the console connected through HDMI cable only.
DID anyone faced this problem and solved it ?
PLZ any suggestion
Thanks for all

Please be more specific if you wish to obtain proper assistance.
Are you trying to reach recovery mode? Hold the power button and wait for the third beep, let it go before it shuts down again. Sometimes you have to do the cycle twice. Once with two beeps and a shut down, once with three.
You can also try this tool to actually enter "Service Mode", but I have not idea what you would be there

Thanks a lot tthousand for your reply.
Yes I am trying to access recovery mode. I've tried holding the power button and wait for beeps, but nothing happens ( neither tree beeps nor two ) and the console did not shut down
I've changed the internal 40GB HDD to 160GB and copied the trophy folder but did not appeared in the new drive. For this reason I need to access recovery mode to rebuild database.
Thanks again
I tried the application you suggested in the link but could not fined how to reach "rebuild database" which can be found in the ordinary recovery mode menu.
Any help ?

Maybe that helps. I don't know what to tell you. Unplug the machine before you try it?

So when you press and hold the power button does it get to the XMB, it's really weird, I thought maybe there's a loose wire or you need to clean the button but I just tested a heap of different ways on a slim(CFW) and a phat(OFW) but it always ends up shutting down. Maybe you should try reinstalling your firmware.

Yeah that's what I mean, it shouldn't get to the xmb. All I can think of is install 3.55 OFW and see if that helps

yeah, 3.55 OFW should help you. recovery menu is apart of the firmware i do believe "emer_init.self" , which is only available on 2.00 and after
