No there's nothing you can do with 3k models. Rogero and Rebug 4.30 are for those who already have jailbroken consoles.. You must be on 3.55 to install them.

Well good thing I still have my original 60 gb ps3. I guess it is time to finally send that badboy in for a service. I am thinking about sending it to endless electronics. I have heard horror stories about Sony's services. Such as using cheap parts so the repair only lasts 30 days (the warranty).

Sorry mate, nothing can be done with a 3k model except waiting for the Cobra ODE and hope it supports 3k when it's released.

Yeah definitely not sending to Sony. Almost every review I saw on their own playstation forum are terrible. But if I send in my ps3 to a legit repair...that 100 dollars is not such a bad investment if I can play my 'backed up' games.

Good thing I have 2 ps3s as well. No need to fear banning.

Well my first PS3 (I got it in 2006 first day) got the yellow light of death about 2 years ago. It has been sitting in my closet collecting dust pretty much, but it has sentimental value cause it was a birthday present. I always planned on getting it fixed cause it can play ps2 games.

My second PS3 (the slim that I am using now) I got about a year and a half ago. Its in perfect working order but it is a 30XX model. I don't think you can jail break it can you?

Cobra ode won't support homebrew as its not cfw. Best option would be to send your old ps3 to someone on eBay to do a repair and downgrade to 3.55. Type in ps3 downgrade on ebay.

No I understood that you could not jail break it...but when you asked:"Is your second PS3 actually broken? Or you just want it jailbroken? If it's not broken, maybe you can jailbreak it yourself!" I got confused because my only working ps3 (the 3k slim) is the one that works. My other PS3 does not work which is why I cannot jail break it.
