Hey guys; I could be wrong but I thought the allure of something like the Cobra USB was how widely used it could be. Pretty much plug it into any PS3, I thought.

I don't have an E3 flasher, but I do have a Cobra USB. My PS3 is on 4.25 firmware. It is a launch 60GB model with full PS2 compatibility. Can I use the Cobra USB in any way shape or form to bring it back to 3.55 or put it on a CFW? Or am I going to have to open this thing and buy an e3 flasher?

Thanks so much guys. You've been a valuable tool over the past 9 years I've been coming here!

Cobra will not downgrade your console. Since you're on OFW 4.25, you have no chance of downgrading at this time without a hardware flasher.

60gb models are NAND consoles and thus an E3 flasher will not work unless you solder it to the board. If you want something solderless, buy a progskeet and a NAND clip. That'll suit your needs just fine.

The E3 is no good for you even if soldered. The E3 only does NOR rom and your is a NAND rom.

The E3 doesn't do NAND at all? I coulda sworn that E3 was working on a dualboot solution for NAND consoles.

Oh crap; good catch! Thank you!

Is there anything I can do to downgrade?

That's not true, through more research E3 does in fact do NAND.

However, I'd suggest you just buy a Progskeet programmer + a NAND clip.

    Thanks given!

This thing allows dual booting of firmware, right? Meaning I can switch it in one direction to play on PSN?
