can i change the game folder names on my hdd?

for example can i rename the hdd/GAMEZ/BCAS20097 folder to hdd/GAMEZ/Uncharted 2 without any errors in gameplay or compatability with open managers?

Yup, the backup managers just scan for the files within the folders (so the name is irrelevant), and it's these files that give you the game name, icon, videos etc.

In the worst case scenario, if it does somehow affect your game play, you can always grab the PARAM.SFO file from the particular game, open it up on a SFO editor and copy it's Game ID from there
