Canīt get out of Factory/Service mode. (TI-84) –
12-09-2010,03:44 PM
Hey.
I wanted to see what service mode was and i am on 3.41 so i installed the jig on my TI-84 and launched it. Now i cant go back. The TI-84 is set to jig, my memorystick is in the right most usb, with only the lv2diag.self( 202 kb) on it. It loads and shuts off as i should but when i turn i on again it is still in Factory/Service mode.
What am i doing wrong ?
( Sorry if my language is bad iīm from Denmark

i could only get it working using the modded 3.41 and file 1 ( lv2diag.self) in a usb stick in port 2 then boot up the ps3, it hopefully will thenturn itself off after a few minutes then wipe and put file 2 lv2diag.self on the usb then turn on again a few seconds later it turns off and then turn it on again and it should hopefully be ok.
this is the problem i had and i ended up turning my ps3 temporarily into a brick
i tried to reinstall the 3.41 original one which i already had on the ps3 but it somehow buggered up my ps3 until i fixed it again
i bet there is a real simple answer but my way should work if all else fails

i also was on 3.41 and wanted to look at the other files so exactly the same problem as you.
i posted how i fixed it for me, maybe if you are stuck you should try it?
im sure there is an easy way out of it, i couldnt find it and had to install the modded 3.41
you could try reinstalling your 3.41 but dont mess with it while its doing it, i did and bricked the ps3 until i reinstalled with the modded 3.41

During local testing some odd patterns were observed getting the downgrade to run (and not just go to the XMB), and then getting out of the service mode.
The first issue of getting the downgrade to run was fixed by properly naming the stage 1 (File 1) "Lv2diag.self" file. Naming it "LV2DIAG.SELF" caused the playstation3 to not recognize it. Plan to "brute-force" this tomorrow to determine the regular expression rules for the name of the file.
The next issue was getting out of service mode once the downgrade was finished. Even though the file was properly named, and the proper stage 2 (File 2) "Lv2diag.self" was being used, the playstation3 would not exit service mode. Eventually this was fixed by using the same flash drive that was used for stage 1. This is concerning because the procedure used for the first downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41 definitely involved using 2 different flash drives successfully, this needs some more testing too.

Sounds like you are leaving the TI-84 connected to the playstation3. The procedure should be like this:
- Disconnect power from the playstation3 completely (either by switch or plug)
- Insert "jig" device in the right-most USB port (closest to Blu-Ray)
- NO USB FLASH DRIVES ARE INVOLVED YET
- Connect power to the playstation3
- Press the power switch, and immediately hit disc eject (just like jb)
- The playstation3 will authenticate the jig and then power-down
- Disconnect power from the playstation3 completely (either by switch or plug)
- Remove the "jig" device and set it aside/reprogram, it is no longer needed
- Power on the playstation3 and confirm service mode
- Select "Turn Off System" from the XMB
- Place the stage 2 (File 2) "Lv2diag.self" file onto a freshly formatted USB Flash drive
- Insert the USB Flash drive from previous step into right-most USB port on playstation3
- Connect power to the playstation3
- Press the power switch, but do not press disc eject.
- Observe the access LED on the USB Flash Drive, it should blink a few times.
- The playstation3 will power cycle after executing the "Lv2diag.self"
Please report back if this does not correct the issue.

Thanks hi3. I did do it the wrong way, but it still wont work. I think it is because i am using a external hdd where there is three partitions so i will try with a usb stick later
