BSPatch now with GUI –
01-22-2011,01:42 PM
I made a small app that makes it easy to use bspatch (for patching CFW).
It also calculates MD5/SHA-1 checksums for all files so you can verify the patching went ok and avoid bricking.

Updated, now works with space key in file/pathnames(thx4tip). Also some minor changes (progress bar). Re-download if you got the old version.
Instructions for patching CFW (e.g. 3.55OFW->3.55KMEAW):
Open original FW file in "Original File" box (e.g. C:\PS3 Stuff\PS3UPDAT.PUP)
Open CFW patch file in "Patch File" box (e.g. C:\PS3 Stuff\patchfile)
Select CFW file name in "Output File" box (e.g. C:\PS3 Stuff\PS3CFW-KMEAW.PUP)
Press "Patch file" button.
Say "Yes" if asked to run bspatch.exe
Wait for it to finish
Check (MD5/SHA1) hashes against CFW makers hashes, if OK, can flash to PS3

This is a great app. I must admit I've been using it to bspatch mods for Morrowind/Oblivion.
I don't know if this is an issue but I've been using it on Windows XP and I get an error "The system cannot find the file specified" if bspatch.exe is not in the "Output file" folder. I guess the GUI ties bspatch.exe to there instead of its working directory. In Windows 7 it works fine so I don't think it's a problem, just something to note.
Thanks for the amazingly useful tool!
