Well, for some reason (I think due to the latest FTP server), my hard drive is 'corrupted'. This happened to me once before, but eventually went away after a few restarts. This one isn't going away. Every time I try to rebuild it, the PS3 says that my HDD has to be formatted, which I'm not going to do.

So, if I put in a different HDD in the PS3 and set it up and whatnot, will I be able to read the old HDD through USB with the FTP server? Does the PS3 recognize it's internal format even if it's on an external drive?

Also, sorry if this has been answered. All the threads I seem to find in search have wishy-washy answers, and most of them are old.
