Bricked my PS3 (I'm pretty sure) Please help!

So here's the story, I was at originally at 3.42 on one of the very early 60GB Phat models, never downgraded never jailbroken. The other day I downgraded the jailbroke to 3.41 modified with E3. It broke BD playback obviously, but I fixed that with DRL 1/2 replacement. All is well.

So then I decide to backup some of my own games to see how it works. I get the newest Multiman and away I go ripping A couple of games to an external HDD. Some work, some don't. I had issues with Sports Champions in particular:

So then after working earlier today, some other games stopped working tonight. Even when not in jailbreak mode and using the original disk! So I decided to upgrade to 3.42 'cause they all worked with the disks on that fw. BIG MISTAKE!

I don't know what I did wrong but after getting my PS3 into Factory service mode again (with the E3) and shuting down. I inserted my flash drive with the 3.42 PUP and the Lv2diag.self File 1. Turned it on it went through what I assumed was normal updating of the fw, even the green light started flashing near the end of the process.......but that's where something happened, the green light never stopped flashing!!!! It never powered off. Eventually after I knew something was wrong, I held down the power button till it shut off. I tried to power on the PS3 and it beeped and the green light flashed for a bit and then it shut down with a solid red light (standby mode).

Now it does the same no matter what I try, seems like it turns on, green light flashes then shut down.

Please, did I just brick my PS3 or do I have any hope of recovery?
All ideas welcome. I'm in serious trouble here!

dude chill out. put in file 1 self, and 3.41 fw on the usb key, plug it in, turn on the ps3...it will flash.

replace with file 2 self only, plug it in, voila!

working ps3.

I would assume modified....

Try original first and then modified if it doesn't work.

Can I go from running Modified 3.41 to Original 3.41. Wondering if that will get me anything, with my recent issues after downgrading/Jailbreaking?

I "updated" from the modified 3.41 to the Official 3.41 right through the XMB.
