Brand new ps3 slim, 3.42

Hi, i have tried searching and from what i have read, i need to update to 3.50 then downgrade to 3.41 and jb (i have an android g1 and the psgroove instructions). I saw the geohot 3.55 lv2 by netkas and flukes1 that plays backups but everyone seems split on it. What would "anyone" recomend.

You can downgrade straight from 3.42.
Alot of people were already on 3.50 and thats why 3.50 seems to be the common number out there.

ok thanks, so ive downloaded the 3.41 .pup but i cant find a tutorial for downgrading, (vbulletin search is not my friend) and i want to make sure i have the right info, do you have a link? thanks i appreciate the help.

EDIT: Nevermind i just found it that i can do the whole thing from my g1. Thanks though

i would wait a while, at least do not downgrade your 3.42 slim to 3.41! it can result in a fance brand new slim bookholder (it doesnt have to but there is a chance and since i assume you dont really know what your doing i strongly advice against it)

Just wait a while untill there is a proper 3.55 cfw released, it will happen in a few weeks max, just have a bit of patience

I just need a clear tutorial on how to downgrade, I have all the files to downgrade and I am tech savy (I have hacked my 360 DVD drive, rooted my g1, jail broken my iPad, and hacked the old psp-1000 when it was harder to do) can someone help me please?

there's a post somewhere ,search for downgrade in posts and you should be able to find it ,also the files are there for download too.
