check out craigslist for your area under ps3.
I'd make a post in the Buy/Sell/Trade section and see if anyone on these forums would be willing to do it for you. Either that, you can check the banners on the homepage. I'm pretty sure one or 2 of them are repair shops located in the US.
Thanks for the advice...I made a post in the Buy/Sell/Trade section. Unfortunatley the only ads I saw on the homepage for repair sites was German.
I'm still kind of holding out hope that C4E comes through with his promises and comes up with a way to extract the key from the drive so I could just swap boards myself. Ive seen boards for my 410-aca online for around $20-$25.
sukh77-i hav a 40gb ps3, jus wanted to know how the bluray playback is fixed
OK, I've been messing on and off with my uncharted trying to get something working, and I may have found my problem. I just need someone with some BD experience to help me finish my diagnosis.
My PS3 will rip games, the files show up and all get read. Thinking it was something wrong with my HDD I backed up my uncharted disc to my PC through FTP and put it on my external HD. While I was browsing through the files I had just pulled from the disc I tried to play one of the movies from the disc on my PC. The result was full of little glitches like in the included screenshot.
Now everything Ive read on this error suggests a bad BD board, but the glitches in videos point me towards a laser problem, anybody got any ideas? I don't want to go spending money on a new laser if it still won't work, but if it will its my only shot being as Ive tried to find BD board help, but no one seems interested.
