BLU RAY DRIVE BROKEN SO NO HOMEBREW WILL WORK NOW PLEASE HELP. –

Hey guys i have an extra ps3 that the blu ray drive was not reading anymore. this is yrs ago. so me and a friend tried to take it apart and clean the lense. May be dumb but we were able to do it like that with the ps2. So we figured it would be simple enough. long story short. when we put it back together the ps3 would not eject anymore and we never got to fix the lense so it acts as if no game is in there. So now i get a black screen whenever i run any homebrew. ie backup manager, ftp whatever. Just curious if anyone knows what i can do. I still use it just to play movies off of ex hdd. but would like to try and get some more functionality out of it. thanks for you time guys.

Hi M8,
It sounds like you haven't put the cables back in the drive properly. Your drive board should be paired and will not be broken.
Re-open your PS3 and check all cables. especially the little ribbon cable at the side of it.

May be John01234's right. Earlier this year my ps3 was black screened when launched homebrews. Fix was a simple: Removed bd drives lifting motor. And changed small sensors board. This one is placed in the center of the drive.
