Black Screen Hades!

1st off I have been lurking here for a while even before I picked up a PS3 i could jailbreak. So I have already searched and read a ton of info. I came across a PS3 that was having issues with the BD drive for 40$ on CL. I have installed 3.55 KMEAW and Rebug both do the same things to me. They both will black screen on all games except NovaStrike from the PSN. The BDdrive has issues with spinning. it recognizes a disc is inserted but it doesn't spin up.

I have read lots about BDEMU for people with bad drives and I have tryed them out but they still black screen with them. If my problem is the drive I could replace the drive from online but the marrying process is confusing when read. I am very techno-savvy and I work a lot with soldering boards so I'm not worried about any of the hands on stuff.

Any ideas which direction I should look in to or something I havent tried?

remarry is easy put in service mode turn off attach new bd drive and put remarry files on root of usb drive in the right most usb port. Turn on wait for ps3 to turn off then delete files on usb. Last put the lv2diag.self that takes the ps3 out of service mode on the root of usb put in same usb port turn on and wait for ps3 to turn off.

thank you! that was written so much more direct than any other post or readme I have read about it! Do you think the black screens are most likely due to the faulty drive? There is no current workaround the BDdrive correct?
