Places like Blockbuster, Rogers Video(if you are in Canada), and other video stores might have older inventory in stock, and u might be able to get one on an older firmware. these places don't move a lot of console inventory, but would keep 1-2 at hand for product variety purpose. i used to work at one, and we had a PS3 which stayed at the store for almost a year before someone bought it. something to try

Just went to Best Buy to buy one, Black Ops bundle, CECH-2501A and it was 3.60. Will be returning it.

That sux squaregravy. If it's any help I will post pics of my black ops bundle to see whats different. I am guessing yours has a later production date on the box. So far in this post 3 CECH-2501A's with 3.50 one with 3.60. Sorry bro

Did everyone get there's from Gamestop? I might try that next not sure how their return policy is. Best Buy you can return it even if it's open but I don't want to go to all them them and return five ps3's within a week. They take your drivers license down so I don't know if they would say anything.

I bought mine from gamestop one of the last of 3 black ops bundles they had left. If its any help mine is a CECH-2501A 98439 made in china. I am trying to find a manufacturers date on the box somewhere. On the inside of the black ops wrap the plain PS3 box reads CECH-2501A 98418.

on the bottom of the box where it says paperpacking factory it says

BF
BPA BD 300/M180/KL200
CHINA

Probably doesn't help to much but thats all I could find without giving my serial numbers away.

I will be gettting one of the 2501A console if its 3.55 or lower i will be selling it or trading for one with higher as i already have a console on CFW lol...

hey wizardlord i bought a call of duty 160gb bundle and tried using a ps3break dongle to jailbreak it however the 3-4 minutesits supposed to take to downgrade is taking FOREVER. Did you use kmeaw this method-> http://psx-scene.com/forums/register...bbd70a6d9a4fe1 to change to 3.55 CFW?

Sell it if you can (or trade it for an old phat model to get that awesome ps2 compatibility) but why trade it? Just update it lol
