bit of help with this please

i been on the ps3break site and looking at there downloads i found this

PS3Break Firmware1.7(2010.11.16)
- Hermes v4b Xeoe Cyberskunk Evilsperm Eco.
- Online PSN support.
- PS3 3.50 Spoof (Modify the firmware version from 3.41 to 3.50 so that can support those games need 3.50 environment).
Warning: Do not upgrade the PS3 console from 3.41 to 3.50!
- Debug console.

so does this mean i flash this to my ps3break 1.1 and then when i play a game it i press a button and it tricks the ps3 into thinking its a 3.50 firmware or am i barking up the wrong tree

sorry if this is a daft question but i am new to ps3 so any help is great

What exactly have you tried?
Have you tried to play a game that requires the 3.50 firmware, or did you tried to access the psn?

The latter of these works, but the 3.50 spoof doesn't let you magically play 3.50 games, otherwise we wouldn't have to bother with trying to make Need for Speed - Hot Pursuit or Two Worlds 2 playable.

This update aims to pose as V3.50 system. Exactly speaking, firmware is modified from V3.41 to V3.50 to enable the games those need 3.5 environment. As long as the ps3break guys haven't altered the payload and made something possible that our talented people here trying to accomplish, i would say that they are telling bullshit again.
Well atleast they give credit to the right people.

PS: Not to mention that i am still waiting for their promised solution to upgrade my ps3break v1.0 pic (something that will never happen), even though i have a better jailbreak device now.
