When all you guys go to delete your boot history theres another file in the same folder. The name is "explore_view.txt". That file tells your boot history file what to record the boot history from such as, Games, Music, etc. If you open up the .txt file and and remove everything exept the photo lines of code it will no longer record your boot history exept the photos you viewed. Unless you have some hacked/homebrew photos this should make everything alot easier for all.

    *Tutorial*
Step 1. Download the edited explore_view.txt . MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

Step 2. Start your Ftp server on your PS3 and open your FTP client on your computer and connect.

    Step 3. Go into /dev_hdd0/home/000000XX/etc/

Step 4. Remove the current explore_view.txt file

Step 5. Drag and drop the new one in and your good.

Now your good to go and no more worrying about boot history!

I think he means, what else should be edited to hide our evidence..

Great idea though, I'm gonna try it out now! I've always been worried about it, even though I'm still on 3.41!

You forgot boot_history.dat, delete everything in that file (open with notepad and save then overwrite)
    3.56 PS3 System Update
Sony have not removed the ability to install firmware through USB, and they have not removed Recovery Mode.
Homebrew has been disabled with this update, and so have backup managers.

    3.55 CFW ftw!

Yes theres still the game.dat and patch.dat files which have history of your game boots, etc. I'm working on something to make them permenatly stop recording history like the boot history file.

The boot_history.dat does not matter anymore, you just need to delete it once and done. Theres no special edit for that, only the explore_view.txt since that tells the ps3 what to record into the boot_history.dat and I edited to only record photo views.

Couldnt you just delete those files and then reboot? Will the ps3 remake them?
Because most files like this once you delete them all the history is gone then when you rerun the program it makes a blank file then it starts logging

I reckon I might edit boot_history.dat to look legit, then save it as that and replace the explore_view.txt to D1215's..

If ya could find a way to stop all the other records aswell that'd be great, another step towards hiding our activities!

I'll have a look and see if I can find anything..
