Been out of it for a while. Need firmware advice. –
I did a lot of research with the PS3 a few years back and I was even doing unbricking research when the waninkoko bricks came around, but bc of the legal problems that everyone was dealing with I decided that I wasn't going to become a target and I dropped out of everything.
I just was handed a PS3 that needed a reflow. I did the reflow and got it back up and running and it has firmware 2.50 on it. I already updated it to 3.15
I'm just wondering, with all the recent developments, what is the best firmware for my to put this PS3 on?
Thank you all.
Rebug 4.21.1 is the best option at the moment is my opinion, I haven't heard of any bricks yet like with Rogero. Update to 3.55 then install Rebug 4.21.1 (or a different on) and all games can be played and we have psn acces
Peoples brick their console because they don't do it correctly.

But Rogero is as reliable as Rebug in my opinion.
My only problem is I blew up my teensy a while ago so I won't be able to put my PS3 into service mode later on if I need to downgrade or anything later on, so I kinda rather not have my PS3 think that it's on a higher firmware. I'm also not caring for online play anyways.
So with that in mind, whats everyones best opinion?
You don't need a teensy to downgrade back to 3.55 as long as you're on rebug 4.21 or rogero 4.30/4.21 . It's a simple software mod away. Very easy.
Thanks everyone. Greatly appreciate it.
I might as well ask my next question here instead of creating a new thread. Whats the easiest way of QA flagging this PS3? I'd rather not have to go and install linux and all of that, especially being that I only have a 20gb HDD in this PS3, and I just don't want to jump through a bunch of hoops.
I have done some googling, but it doesn't seem like the wiki page has all the latest info on the methods. I'd rather just get the most current info from someone who knows instead of spending forever searchign on my own just to find out that there was an easier method.
Thank you again.
